About Dr Bedlow

Dr Alison Bedlow has been an NHS consultant dermatologist for South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust since 2000. Here she treats patients with all skin conditions, including psoriasis, acne, eczema and skin cancer.

In addition she supervises and trains medical undergraduates from Warwick medical school, and also junior doctors and Specialist Registrars.

Dr Bedlow has a private clinical practice at Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital, and also the Circle Clinic in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Dr Bedlow qualified at King’s College Medical School, University of London in 1990, with distinctions in Medicine, Surgery and Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. She was awarded the University of London ‘Silver Medal’ for being the second placed candidate from all of the London medical schools (Betuel Prize in Medicine).  Following this she held a number of positions during her general medical training, including accident and emergency medicine, renal medicine, general medicine and gastroenterology, haematology and respiratory medicine. She obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1993.

During her dermatology training Dr Bedlow has worked in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, King’s College Hospital, London and St Helier Hospital, Surrey, but her main training as both Registrar  and Senior Registrar took place in St George’s Hospital, London from 1994-1999.

Dr Bedlow is Treasurer of the British Society for Dermatopathology, having been the Secretary from 2002-2007.

Dr Bedlow is a highly regarded in the field of dermatology. She has been the recipient of a number of prestigious medical prizes, including the Hugh Wallace prize for Best Presentation at the Royal Society of Medicine, as both Registrar and Senior Registrar. She is on the Specialist Register for Dermatology.
